“Is Musical Music found anywhere else but in old Hollywood movies, Rock concerts or in Broadway shows? …I would argue that yes it is still alive in limited editions but making a major impact again! In the Music industry Trends and Fads come and go. Thanks to this group named The Axis of Awesome you no longer need to watch old Hollywood musical re-runs, attend a comedy show, rock concert or go to the theater. We now get the luxury of viewing and listening to a first class performance of dance, music and comedy 24/7 any day, and time. All in the privacy and comfort of our car, home or television set without having to wait in long lines or buy expensive overpriced tickets.
For those of you that have never heard of this group, The Axis of Awesome formed in 2006, is a singing group trio from Sydney, Australia; with members Jordan Raskopoulos, Lee Naimo and Benny Davis. The group met as students while studying at the University of Sydney and performing in different establishments. In February 2016, Jordan came out publicly as transgender. The group is a one-of-a kind musical act full of all different genres of musical flavors as diverse in scope as its group members, and fan-base alike.
The Axis of Awesome released in 2016, Viva La Vida Loca Las Vegas their sixth album made up of 21 tracks. The Album Viva La Vida Loca Las Vegas I would say has some resemblance with bits and pieces of inspiration from Hollywood musical themes and some sprinkles from Movin’ Out, based on the tunes of Billy Joel, Jersey Boys, and Rock of Ages 2009, with classic rock of the 1980s. Mamma Mia!, based on the songs of ABBA. As no other singing group exist today in the music industry talented like these singers with powerful vocals, and ferocious performances. Their music is a mini concert of everything uplifting for the weary and depressed soul, fused with; Rock, Pop, Theater, Dance, Comedy and killer vocals combined all in one act.
This Album leaves you laughing, rejuvenated, and falling out of chairs with excitement. The group has a huge international following and major social media presence with over 60 million views on Youtube. It’s no wonder why they are so well liked, as they don’t discriminate and cater to all audiences through diversity of music primarily with comedy. Sadly, regardless of how much we love this Album and impact its made, we will most likely never return to the ‘golden age,’ where musicals reigned supreme within the everyday music industry? As Music and how it’s made, listen to, and sold has drastically undergone major commercial changes since the 1980’s and 1990’s.
This Album has a huge variety of musical effects in their lyrics unrivaled anywhere else. The Axis of Awesome therapeutic and uplifting style of music is guaranteed to add authenticity to any person going through difficult times. The most powerful song on the entire Album is Track # 21 named0 “Transgender Dysphoria Blues”. It sends a raw very powerful message through lyrics about the struggles that transgender people go through transitioning and seeking to be accepted by society.
Hungry Comedy lovers can get their giggles, and bellies filled with this Album even if they dislike their music. As the full range of music themes is catered for everyone; including saucy and slapstick comedy music, rock, pop or a good old-fashioned song. You can select from happy comedy music, jaunty, or touching reflective songs. It is therefore, easy to love the entire Album or find a Track that exactly suits your mood and personality. As all Tracks feature impressive music that will have you rolling in the aisles and stomach churning for more 365 days a year. Musical effects include varied vocal effects alongside instrumentals including Guitar, Piano effects, and an extensive general music effects of sounds.
This Album is very well produced and highly recommended as a must have for everyone. It also makes the perfect gift for the dance-hearted, sick, depressed or overall music lover as it doesn’t discriminate in anyway and powerfully uplifting.
